The situation
A fractional executive firm grew through referrals and wanted systematic deal flow instead: a steady flow of conversations with the right buyers that didn't depend on who happened to refer them.
What we did
- Cleaned the data first. We audited 12,181 contacts and removed 2,920 bad records before any outreach went out.
- Defined the buyer. We built an ICP from how the firm's deals actually closed and tiered the list by buying signal.
- Built LinkedIn sequences for that buyer. Multi-touch, written for the firm's market, sent from a senior profile at safe daily volume.
- Ran three channels as one system. LinkedIn, cold email, and cold calling worked the same list, so each channel could pick up where another left off.
The results
LinkedIn became the firm's lead engine. In this market, buyers responded to a senior person reaching out directly far more than to email or calls, so we shifted effort toward the channel that was earning replies while keeping the others for follow-up.
Methodology
Channel: LinkedIn, from the client's sender profile. Volume: 6,615 connection requests. Measured: acceptance (accepted requests ÷ requests sent), open rate (messages opened ÷ messages sent), and reply rate (replies ÷ messages sent), as reported by the outreach platform. Numbers are cumulative for the program.
What this means for you
The channel that wins depends on where your buyers pay attention. That is why we run LinkedIn outreach, cold email, and cold calling together from one tiered list built through lead generation, then put the effort where the replies come from.
